On Sunday the 22nd of September around one o'clock, 3 buses and 3 cars were involved in a serious crash which left Chelsea Bridge Road closed for nearly 8 hours; fortunately nobody was killed with only 3 taken to hospital. The buses involved were Abellio London's first Enviro 400 - 9401 working route 452, Go-Ahead London's WHY4 working route 360 and finally Go-Ahead London's Borismaster/NB4L - LT62. LT62 was actually working away from the normal route altough it was in service.
The 58 year old driver was among the three seriously injured with 12 others treated for minor injuries. 10 ambulances attended this horrfic scene, while the London Fire Brigade had to cut at least one person from the wreckage.
As of now LT62 has been kept in police evidence along with WHY4 but for 9401 it has been towed to the Hants & Dorset Bus & Coach Refurbishment Centre.

Will LT62 and WHY4 be withdrawn or will they be fixed? LT62 is a brand new bus and only started running in service the day before the crash.
ReplyDeleteHi Anon, how are you doing? I'm fine. LT62 will not be withdrawn, as it's assumed that it's sent back to Wrightbus for a re-build and for WHY4 it's likely to be withdrawn but I'm unsure.

Thanks LB67.
ReplyDeleteUpdate: LT62 has been withdrawn and shall be replaced by LT118. WHY4 is still out of action whilst 9401 has to not returned to London duties. Possibility of WHY4 & 9401 being withdrawn is likely.. I'd also like to take the opportunity to shed some light on DWL13 which was out of service for 8 months (20/03/13 - 21/11/13) it is still at Q making appearances on all SD routes bar the 355.
ReplyDelete9401 is in Service along with a Refurbishment
